Cherokee Village, located in the beautiful Ozark foothills of northern Arkansas, comprises more than 13,000 acres extending into both Sharp and Fulton counties. Conceived in 1954, it was developed by Cooper Communities, Inc. as a vacation-retirement area. There are more than 24,000 lots originally purchased by individuals for home sites, for investment, or for enjoyment of the amenities in the Village.

Beautiful Lakes

There are seven beautiful lakes within the Cherokee Village city limits, owned and maintained by the District. They range in size from 19 acres of surface area (Lake Aztec) to 264 acres (Lake Thunderbird).

Countless Amenities

Cherokee Village has a wealth of amenities, including seven lakes with boating, fishing and swimming at a private beach or any two pools. Water skiing and sailing are also favorite pastimes.

Golf Courses

Nested in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, Cherokee Village offers two championship-caliber golf courses. The North Golf Course is a beautiful 18 hole course designed by John Cooper and built in 1963.
